Frequently Asked Questions

Is DGT disposable or reusable?

The membranes cores inside of flat type DGT and dual mode DGT are both disposable products, and the outside device shells and membranes are disposable products. The base of dual mode DGT is reusable.

What elements can DGT detect?

EasySensor DGT can be detected:

Nutrient elements
(NH4+, NO3-, PO43-) S(-II)

Heavy Metal elements
(As, Cr, Mo, Sb, Se, V, W, Fe, Cd, Co, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn,CH3Hg+ , Hg2+)

Rare earth elements
(La, Pr, Eu, Tb, Ho, Tm, Lu, Ce, Nd, Sm, Gd, Dy, Er, Yb, Y)

Different types of DGT detect different object elements. See DGT type for details.

The difference between DGT and HR-Peeper?

The two theories are different, the detected object state is different; The theory of HR-Peeper is diffusion equilibrium. The membrane on both sides of the device is 0.45um filter membrane.

The pore water and the pure water (or other media) in hr-peeper have diffusion equilibrium, which can permeate the dissolved ions of the filter membrane. The DGT device contains adsorption gel, diffusive gel and filter gel.

The target elements or compounds in the solution are irreversibly enriched on the adsorption gel after passing through the diffusion layer with a certain diffusion rate and a certain diffusion coefficient.

The amount of the target on the adsorbed gel obtained by instrumental analysis is called the bioavailability content. This dynamic process is similar to that of plant uptake, so the DGT technique reflects the migration capacity of metals and nutrients.

How software do I need to process the PO image?

PO image processing USES the supporting software of PO equipment (Easysensor PO), which is developed by intelligent environment and integrates calibration, automatic image acquisition and image processing.

Only the original image processing needs to be imported into the software, immediately can automatically generate one-dimensional, two-dimensional, three-dimensional images.

How do I calculate the DGT concentration?

DGT concentration refers to the bioavailable concentration of the target element or compound in the environment. The formula for calculating DGT concentration is

Among them, the M for DGT set period fixed membrane of target ion accumulation (mu g), A device for DGT exposed area of the window (cm2), Δ g the diffusion layer thickness (cm), D for target ion diffusion coefficient in the diffusion layer (cm2s – 1), t to DGT set time.

Where, Ce is the concentration of the extraction solution, Ve is the volume of the extraction agent, Vg is the volume of the fixed film (soil wafer is generally denoted as 0.2mL, the volume of the section-based fixed film is calculated according to the resolution), and fe is the extraction rate of the extraction agent against the target ion on the fixed film.
